写作背景:


 凝视着一片化石
  
  在客厅厨柜里摆着一块十多厘米见方的褐色*的石板,上面清晰地露出一条鱼的骨骼的纹印。

  有人问:“艾老,这是鱼化石吗?”

  “是的。”

  “您的《鱼化石》就是根据它写的吧?”

  “不,不是。你看,这是一条鱼的化石。我写那首诗,是根据当年在延安时林伯渠先生所存的一块很大的鱼化石写成的。但是,那上边不是一条鱼,而是六七条,不是僵死的,而是游动的,你不记得我在诗中这样写的吗:

  “动作多么活泼,/精力多么旺盛,/在浪花里跳跃,/在大海里浮沉;//不幸遇到火山爆发,/也可能是地震,/你失去了自由,/被埋进了灰尘;……”

  几十年前在延安看到林伯渠先生的鱼化石,几十年后这鱼化石却启动了诗人的灵感,使诗人写下了《鱼化石》一诗,这一漫长的历史过程,说明了创作上的一个真理:生活积累对于创作是多么重要!看到鱼化石的当时,诗人并没有写诗,而是到了1978年,诗人遇到了契机,遇到了心灵感应,《鱼化石》一诗才应运而生了。

  生活有时是非常不公正的。1957年,诗人被无端地打成“右派”,从此便被无情地埋没二十年,不仅不能发表作品,甚至连一个正常人的生存权利都被剥夺了。诗人从社会上消逝了。到1978年,诗人复出之后,不能不对这漫长的痛苦生活作深入的思考。正是在这种深入的思考之下,诗人在鱼化石上找到了流溢之口。鱼化石的形象和诗人心中的思绪相撞击,使诗人产生了灵感。因为鱼化石的形象能极贴切地表达诗人的思绪。当然,要通过鱼化石来表达自己的思绪,要表达得生动感人,不仅要对自己内心的思绪有准确把握,还要对鱼化石的形象有准确把握,并使二者巧妙地联系起来。而诗人正是具有这种把握能力的高手。
